Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. New In Self Care: Gua Sha Stone

Hey Guys!
I hope you’re all well and feeling mentally fit while all of our lives are shifting. If you’re like me you’ve been working from home. Luckily for me I’m working less hours at the moment so it’s freed up a lot of time for my skin care and self care. I’ve added a bunch of new products from Beauty Pie to my arsenal, which I plan to follow up on in a separate post, but I’ve also been looking into my current beauty tools.

I have an onyx facial roller that I use occasionally when applying serums and while using sheet masks. (I saw someone do this in a video once. It’s genius. Try it.) I also have a rotating facial brush that I use when my skin is feeling particularly clogged and needs a deep cleanse. But mostly I just use my hands to apply all of my products. But since I’ve had extra time, and as I get closer to 30, I’m trying to ramp up my skin care routine.

Since I don’t use my roller a lot I thought it would be good to look into a Gua Sha stone. They’re a bit more “complicated” than a roller apparently but they do exactly what I need which is release tension around the sinuses and jaw line. I picked this one up straight from the Solaris Laboratories after searching around for a bit. I really wanted a jade one rather than rose quartz as that seems to be the trend at the moment. I’ve only tested it out a bit at the moment but felt a huge benefit. I’m looking forward to using it more and sharing how it goes!

xx
