Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. My first favorite: Black Blanqi Maternity Leggings . I was re

Summer Haze

The days are long the weather is nice, for the most part, and i can smell summer in the air. My 22 birthday was May 21 and I got some cash for some shopping. So I thought it'd be fun to do a bit of a haul and styling post. First up I thought I'd share what I picked up. My mom gave my sister and I gift cards to H&M so we started our shopping adventures there. The store near me seems to have redistributed the stock space and now instead of a floor and a half of women's clothing, accessories and shoes, the space that was primarily the trend driven casual wear is now occupied by baby and children's clothing. I was not excited to see this especially not when I realized the area that now house the trend related clothing was the former linger room which is rather small. Ultimately I chose two items an oversized distressed denim jacket, and a varsity trend lightweight long-sleeved tee. The denim jacket is a bit too big, I had to get it in a US size 6 but probably would've been better off with a 4 or 2. At H&M the 2s are usually too narrow for my shoulders and I go with the 4 but this jacket has a lot of room so the 2 might end up having the fit I want. I'll try a different H&M soon.

After a lackluster turn at H&M we walked over to the Forever 21 which had more to look at but I ultimately decided to keep my choices to a minimum in case I find more that I like at H&M and use up the rest of the gift card. At Forever I took my time since sometimes things seem to get lost in there and I didn't want to miss anything good. I ended up with a Nirvana crew neck sweatshirt with rainbow lettering. I'm not really sold on it yet, I've tried it on a bit but left the tags on. I love Nirvana but I would rather have a classic yellow on black print. I did however find a black faux leather backpack that I really loved and can't wait to bring with me over the summer and to the beach in a few weeks.

After that shopping trip I remembered I had meant to swing over to Sephora to pick up my birthday gift and repurchase a deep purple Make Up Forever lipstick I had lost. I went back solo the next day and after a bit of poking around before hand had discovered Make Up Forever has a new black lipstick. I couldn't find my deep purple but after months of the Lime Crime Styletto evading me when ever I went to find it I snatched this one up as soon as I got there. Since I've been on the hunt for a while I'll make a special post about it and my recent Lime Crime Discoveries.

I haven't used up my gift card yet so look forward to a part two I suppose....

PS. I also picked up this really cute $6 sunnies from Forever a few weeks ago. They're perfect and I love them <3
