Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. My first favorite: Black Blanqi Maternity Leggings . I was re

Okay, honestly this post is late. Like really really late. I wanted to out it up a day or two before Valentine's day but I ended up getting really busy and my plans for that weekend changed like 3-4 times that week!! Things were happening!!! My valentine is now my boyfriend which is definitely a fun development since I'm actually always single, I thought about it I've had my fb for like 8 years this year and this is the FIRST time I've been in a relationship on fb. So weird!

But anyways, for years I was never a perfume girl, well really I've never been that frivolous when it comes to beauty or stuff. I am truly a 90s grungey girl in that sense. My beauty routine is skin care heavy and make up light but realistically I wear like 5 layers of mascara and eyeliner and pretty much nothing else. So I never invested in perfume because I just realistically didn't think I'd use it. Very practical of me. But about a year ago or two ago I decided to just go for it and get a roller ball version of a long time lust and have accumulated a few roller balls and things. Valentine's fay may have passed but that doesn't mean there isn't a date night around the corner where a little splash of a favorite scent won't make you feel a little more confident! I wanted to share what I have and sort of what occasion I'd wear them for. Let me know if you love them too or any of your favorites!
Elizabeth and James Nirvana White is a nice grown up but feminine scent. I like that it's floral and light but there's something a bit more unique about it. I feel like it'd be a good office meeting perfume I don't know why but it really gives me girl boss vibes. It's not too over powering so if you're looking for something easy to wear it's a good option.

A lighter alternative is Vera Wang Princess this too is an oldie but goodie to me. It's a really light feminine scent but I think that's part of it's charm! I always feel super girly when I wear it but sometimes that's just the vibe you need.

My favorite everyday perfume is definitely Juicy Couture, like the original. I used to love it in middle school (yes before high school) I'd save the ads because I just thought they were really interesting visually. I liked the Marie Antoinette girls with the tattooed and colorful haired boys ones the best. But anyways this one's a little nostalgic for me but the scent is sweet but not too sweet. The scent lasts pretty well and I think wears well through out the day without being too over powering.

Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Touch is one I picked up kind of on a whim one day. I used to love the original Very Sexy body mist I think it was kind of like a sexier vanilla-y smell and I loved it and just felt really confident when I wore it and after some discussion my family decided they liked this better than the other Very Sexy I think embrace or something. I like it and it's a good one to wear to an early on date I'd say.

My personal favorite favorite scent right now is Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black. It's a heavy somewhat masculine scent so it might be a bit much for everyone for everyday but there's just something about it that makes me feel like it's perfect for date night. I'm pretty sure I've raved about this guy before but honestly there's just something about it. I got the mini rollerball which is good if you're not to sure about it, but I'll definitely purchase a full size.

If you ask an associate at Sephora they will usually get you a sample size so if you're not sure or want to try one of these check your local Sephora and see how they work on you!
