Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. Happy Hair

Hey guys!
So I don't know if you guys know but I have purple hair. My hair is naturally black so obviously or maybe not obviously it's lightened. And we all know what happens with lightening your hair. Damage. Every girl's favorite thing! So I've been playing around with a few products to see what works for my hair and I finally feel like I have a few things that have worked for me. So the most recent damage I've had is heat damage. A few months ago I used some heat on my hair and it's never been the same. It left it stringy and breaking and subsequently breaking my heart. So recently I've been using two brands on it and they've been working really well for me.

First up Redken Repair. I am constantly on a budget so trying out a higher cost shampoo and conditioner was not really my plan. But sometimes you have to spend extra to get better and that's exactly what happened with this for me. I instantly saw change in my hair. The curl pattern returned to some of the straighter limp pieces. My hair became softer and stronger and i immediately saw less breakage.Which gave me huge hope and it's definitely a go to when things get rough!

Secondly, I tried out Function of Beauty which I saw on Instagram. After putting together my list of concerns and goals via their website it took about 3-4 weeks to get my package I believe but I was super excited and the shampoo and conditioner did not let me down. One of the things I listed was wanting to encourage hair growth. I feel like that's where Function of Beauty helped me where the Redken stopped. Hopefully in a few months I'll have even more to say about my progression but for now updating on what's been working well for me!
xx
