Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. We're Cooking!

I'm actually so sorry if I've deceived you because this isn't a post about cooking or recipes. That's to say that December 2021 just in time for Christmas my little bun should be fully cooked and coming out of the oven!

Sorry again that this isn't about food but it is pretty exciting for me! One of the only things I've ever been fully sure of is that I want to be a mom. Figuring out my career has been a journey but that has been a constant. Knowing that:

  1. My body worked! Which is genuinely how I felt at first, has been a huge relief and something I've worried about for years.
  2. Getting to be a mom (what?!) this year. It's blowing my mind and is so exciting.
  3. A pre 30 goal is happening in a big way this year is making me very optimistic about the rest of my 5 year goals.
That said, I want to share this adventure but I'm also very cautious about the environment around parenting and the internet. This is my first, and one that I'm feeling less prepared for than some other people who get here. So while I'm definitely not prepared to share everything I'm WILDLY excited to share what I'm buying for baby. I love sharing what and where I'm shopping and it's not stopping yet. Right now there's a bit of DIY, some upcycling, and some organic cotton baby clothing hauls in the future. I've also been giving our patio area a face lift which will hopefully be completed soon if babies aren't on your radar. I'm so excited for this year and I'll be juggling a lot but it really feels like it's all coming together.
