Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. Zola Dreams

So a few months ago I headed up to New York to visit with a friend and see Zola Jesus play at Webster Hall! I had so much fun at the show she was fantastic and Webster Hall was a great smaller venue to see her in. I took a bunch of photos of her but forgot to take one of myself so for the purposes of this post I recreated the look for y'all (sorry it was pretty good in real time though).
I had headed over to Topshop among other places shopping around as I waited for my bud to get out of work. After multiple misses the Topshop sale came through for me!! After a painful debate over some Ashish for Topshop light up shoes that I've been coveting since I saw the runway show and couldn't get my hands on at the time (they were under $200 and had originally been $600 and ended up being a half size too small for one foot D':). My outfit would have been epic if I had gotten those but it was still pretty spiffy.

After hunting far and wide for a pair of short overalls I finally found mine and paired it with a fluffy multicolored cropped short sleeved sweater. The combo was pretty cute even though I ended up wearing my leather jacket over it during the show. Overall I had too many drinks, an awesome time at the show, and some yummy foods afterwards. Zola was really fabulous even though she didn't really talk to the audience much, which could have been time restraints for all I know. I just wanted to share my outfit which I thought was pretty fun and pictures from the night it was a total blast and I hope to have more nights like it!!
