Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. Back in Black


So if you've been with me for a bit then you might know I've been on the hunt for a black lipstick for a while. Nothing brings the drama quite like black. I've put in some time scoping out the perfect black lipstick. I happened to discover that most of them were between $18-20 so it was mostly going to be about opacity for me. After months of Lime Crime's Styletto, which was my top choice, repeatedly selling out on me (it's sold out at the moment btw, might be the season though) I found a new lead. I popped on to the Sephora website since I had the beauty insider birthday gift to pick up and wanted to see if I could get it online. The gift was from Make Up Forever which reminded me of a lipstick I had gotten while I was abroad and visiting Paris. I seem to have lost it this past semester unfortunately and was looking to replace it when I spotted a black satin finish. DIED! I couldnt find my lost lippy but I picked up the black. I have uet to try it out but I wanted to post my joy and success in finally getting it!!

P.S. Also in case you're interested Lime Crime has a new Velveteens in black. Gimme!!!! All Velveteens are matte finishes.
P.P.S. And because I'm annoyingly obsessed with black lipstick I just found out Manic Panic does cosmetics and their lipsticks have a $15 Raven Black.
