Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. My first favorite: Black Blanqi Maternity Leggings . I was re

Hair Game

So a few weeks ago I finally FINALLY got around to dyeing my hair again. After weeks of waiting until after graduation so just in case I wouldn't end up with hair I hated for graduation. I just had like 6 inches of roots NBD. I ended up having my mom help me after I had forgotten my intent with the product I had decided on and needing to dye it over (I took a break for a day or two I forget). Well now after processing and lightening my hair (I'm probably going to go a bit lighter towards the end of the summer) it needs some TLC. (so many parentheses and all caps <3) I've been on the hunt for a good deep conditioner as well as leave-in, because my hair tends to be pretty dry, and today I finally decided to pick up a few.

Firstly the deep conditioner, while I was at school I didn't really have one to use so I would usually just put in a ton of conditioner let it sit and then wash it out at the end of a shower. But now since I'm home and have the time to do a nice long deep conditioning as well as my hair has been lightened and needs more conditioning I wanted to find one that I thought would really be good to my hair. I haven't found too many that I liked the price of as well as the ingredients so I've ultimately settled a bit. I decided to pick up the Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm in L'Oreal's Advanced Haircare. It claims to repair up to 1 year of damage in one use. If that's possible then this is the holy grail of deep conditioners. It also says it helps fight signs of damage like, split ends, weak, rough, dull and dehydrated hair. A few things my hair has the misfortune of being plagued by. I'm also going down to the beach for a few days this week so when I get back I'll definitely give this a whirl and hope to see some nice benefits.

My second purchase was a leave-in conditioner. The one I decided on was Cantu's Leave-in Conditioning repair cream. I used it while I was at school and I can't really remember what happened to the pot I had. I might have used it up and don't remember but I do think my hair liked it. It wasn't too heavy and my hair definitely felt softer after using it. It has a daily styling and overnight treatment directions on the pot. I don't use heat pretty much ever on my hair these days but it says it's a heat protector so I might try that later in the summer. I'll let you know how these work for me but if you have any suggestions let me know my hair needs love!!
