Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. Nail Repair

Since I've started working at my new job my nails have taken a serious beating. They've been splitting at the tips and everything. It's hard to get a well rounded diet but I've been trying to sneak in the good stuff when I find it. But since that doesn't seem to have been enough I've been supplementing my normal routine with some nail specific help in an attempt to get them back to fighting shape. I usually keep my nails polished 24/7 but they're in pretty decent shape considering.
To start I picked up Sally Hansen VitaSurge Strength Gel. It's a nail strengthener with Vitamin C in it so while I'm nail colorless as I'm attempting to get them healthier I'm also making sure they look nice the whole time by whitening them. Additionally I've been using an Almond Hand and Nail Lotion by the Body Shop. I've never shopped there before but this has been a great introductory product. My hands have been moisturize and it helps my nails feel nourished in between those nail treatments.
Honestly it's been a few weeks since I started with the nail gel so realistically the chipped parts of my nails have already been growing out and I've been filing them down a bit to keep a shape I like. So the initial splitting is mostly gone. However I have noticed that there isn't any additional splitting. My nails feel like they are a bit stronger and they're noticeably whiter. I think my nails have been improving a lot and hopefully keeping this up after painting my nails again (the treatment can be used over polish) will keep them looking great for months to come.
