Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. Faux Realist

I have spent many months on the hunt for a good faux fur jacket. My requirements were simple I wanted it to be fluffy, soft not that scratchy faux fur, and not crazy expensive if I decide I'm not into it next year. I've searched a ton of websites and stores looking for the right one touching a lot of coats and I finally found one that ticked enough boxes! I love this one from Forever 21, it's Rust colored collarless and has a zipper in the front which I didn't like at first but it makes it a lot more wearable. It's pretty well constructed and I'm really happy with my purchase, not to mention I got it in the sale and with some store credit ($$$)! I paired it with a neutral outfit for the purpose of this post, a black cashmere sweater from Uniqlo, my black Riding Pants from American Apparel and a new pair of Hiking Boot style booties from Aldo which I also got in their 50% off sale (!!!). The boots have about a 2 inch heel about which is just enough to make you feel like you're off the ground but not like you're wearing giant heels. I was massively excited to finally pick up some major wishlist items and if you hurry they might still be in the sales!
