Style Favorites: Maternity Edition

I'm currently 7 weeks postpartum and cleared to start getting back to "normal" activity. It seems like enough time to have had a look at what I wore during my pregnancy and to know what I really liked and what didn't work for me.  I showed really late, I was probably around 25-26 weeks before I had a bump that took me out of my normal clothes and even then I was still fairly small. Because of that I didn't really invest in maternity clothing. By the time I got to the point where things didn't fit or I didn't like how they fit I was less than 10 weeks from my due date. That said, we had 3 weddings to attend this year and my baby shower. I also worked until I went into labor, which was luckily a Sunday, so I did have to dress myself until the end. Another disclaimer, I was able to have a relaxed wardrobe for work which also kept me from buying more maternity wear and using what I had in my closet. My first favorite: Black Blanqi Maternity Leggings . I was re

Reaching Nirvana

So I have wanted the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Perfume probably since I smelled it. At first I was simply intrigued by the dual scents, I really love that even in adulthood they still play off of their twindom (?), and the name Nirvana. As a lover of the band and of Yoga which incorporates a lot of Buddhist philosophies as well as Sanskrit words. The choice of the name Nirvana piqued my interest to say the least. After smelling Nirvana Black I was hooked. The notes are not unheard of but the effect is really bold and distinctive. It is pretty intense at first but it wears beautifully, the sent lingered on my scarf for a few days after wearing it and I loved it more and more the longer I smelled it. There was one word used to describe the scent, Addictive, which I thought was an interesting word choice but also how I felt about the scent. Nirvana White I've had less experience with but like the option of a lighter scent that feels a bit more classically "feminine" and a bit less bold. I think it's probably the more wearable of the two and will probably accommodate many women. It's not a light florally sweet fragrance at all, but it's a bit more elegant and sophisticated. Both I feel are beautiful options and I will likely go grab the full size perfumes when I've got a bit more to spend. The Minis are great on the go options and great for those who are indecisive like myself and trying to pick a favorite.
